Nature's Window Collection No. 9 - Summer Kingfisher - Christopher Holt & Co

Resin tableau in wood effect frame from the Nature's Window Collection sculpted by Christopher Holt. This is No 9, Summer Kingfisher. It is drilled for hanging on the reverse and is in very good condition. I can't see any marks or damage but the wood effect frame is made to look slightly distressed

Set of Six Horn Effect Resin Inlay Napkin Rings

A set of six napkin rings in what I suppose to be resin although it has the look of horn, and could well be. They are all inlaid with a white zig-zag pattern and polished. The shapes are roughly triangular but the sizes and thicknesses are irregular, both things enhancing the natural effect.

5cm x 4cm deep (biggest)

Large Wooden Plate with Aborigine and Boomerang - D. Konigson

Unusual, and of some vintage by the looks of it, large wooden plate featuring an inscribed rather than cut, image of an Australian aborigine about to throw a boomerang. It is signed "D. Konigson" and on the back in very neat cursive script is "Australian Aborigine throwing a boomerang".  It's quite a primitive piece of work and rather faint so you consider wanting to rub some stain into the lines to bring out the design. It has been around a few years, the back is extensively scratched and has several holes from where t's been hung. There are also a couple of cracks on the front and it is slightly warped. An intriguing piece though, nonetheless.

31cm diameter

Vintage Coffee Storage Jar

A small ceramic coffee storage jar in the shape of a sack. There is a matching lid. Unmarked. It is in visibly good condition although it has been used to clean paintbrushes and while all paint residue has been removed, there is a taint of brush cleaner or white spirit. I am working to eliminate this.

Each 13cm x 10.5cm

Vintage Brown Rabbit Ornament - Poole Pottery

SOLD

Small brown rabbit in the crouching position by Poole Pottery (note, this is not the one scratching its ear). In very good condition generally although there is some crazing. Also the vent hole on the base has suffered some damage  and may well crack again. It doesn't look as though the damage will extend beyond the base and it's not visible in normal use. It also has some ingrained grime which will be removed prior to sale.

Small Hand Turned Wooden Mushroom

A small hand turn wooden mushroom. It's a single piece, no glue or join, from an unknown dark wood. There are a few knot holes and a couple of small drying cracks and it looks as though there are some water stains on the dome. However it occurred to me this may be deliberate in order to imitate fly agaric spots as there are none on the stalk. The base has a patch of green felt affixed to it.

Hand Turned Burr Wood Bowl

Small bowl, hand turned from what looks to be a burr wood of some kind. Interesting grain pattern around the sides as for the most part there is a diagonal grain that suddenly opposes, almost as if it's been cut in two. There is a small crack from the rim with the grainfor about an inch but it seems quite sturdy and is still a great looking piece. Green felt base.

Vintage Invalid Cup - Collectable - Grimwades Royal Winton

SOLD

Vintage invalid feeder cup or pap boat by Grimwades Royal Winton. It features a logo on the top, a disc with the word WELL between two wheat ears. The backstamp on the base was, I think used around the early 1930s, perhaps earlier. It is in very good condition bar a tniy chip on the underside of the tip of the spout and three short scratches on the top (see photo).

Stoneware Wall Plaque with Relief Design - The Glen Pottery

SOLD

Lovely stoneware wall plaque featuring a relief of four pots, berries and some burlap drapery. The pots can be used as dried flower vases should you wish (indeed, there is some old oasis still in them which I will leave in as shock absorber for dispatch). The back has been predrilled for hanging and is stamped with the pottery indent. Please note, this is very heavy, around 1.4kg so will require a substantial fixing. There isn't much info on the pottery out there, the favourite location appears to be Gillingham in Dorset but even that's guesswork. If anyone knows for sure, I'd love to know. In beautiful condition.

Vintage Desk Tidy or Similar - Hotel Ware? Grimwades Royal Winton

SOLD

Unusual looking thing in white porcelain and to be honest, I'm not altogether sure what it is. The fact that it has a logo leads me to believe it's some kind of hotel ware; the logo though, a capital M & B either side of a star, crescent and a ♀ symbol, is unfamiliar. It has a groove at the front and four small holes at the back, presumably for standing something in. The one thing I can be sure of is the date, which is 1951/52, owing to the "A" quality mark on the backstamp. Any knowledge gratefully received! There are a couple of very small flea bites to the edges but otherwise it's in fine condition and will provide a talking point

Vintage Evesham Jam Pot - Royal Worcester

SOLD

Large lidded preserve pot from what I think is a variant of the "Evesham" range by Royal Worcester. Please note, it isn't Evesham Vale or Gold. Both the lid and sides are ribbed and the pot flares out to the rim. It's in very good condition although the edge is slightly rough to the touch. The photo used here is very poor and accentuates the marks.

Pair of Small Vintage Undecorated Rectangular Bowls - Gray's Pottery

Intriguing pair of rectangular bowls or dishes by Grays Pottery. They are both slightly differently coloured, one a slightly brighter yellowish buff. The backstamps date from the mid 1930s but there are handwritten marks, too "D2 x 36" & "D2 x 37" and these appear to have been lacquered over. I suspect they may be colour test pieces of some kind, something I am accustomed to finding as I live near The Potteries and much of my stock is sourced from the area. Perhaps they were to be hand coloured later or maybe they were trialling different base colours. We'll never know. They're in excellent condition and are lovely and smooth. Still fantastic pieces in their own right.
