Vintage Large French "Mushroom" Terrine - Pillivuyt

Very nice but quite large and heavy green and brown vessel and plate by Pillivuyt of France. I'm not sure of its purpose; it could be a storage jar or large terrine, although there was a smaller version made which was more suitable for that. It has a pair of mushrooms as a finial/handle on the lid and the edges are crimped diagonally. It's heavy enough to be stoneware but the clay is white and fine so probably porcelain. There is a small surface chip on the edge of the plate but otherwise it's in excellent condition.

Unusual Multi Coloured Ornamental "Thing"

SOLD

Not quite sure what this is but it caught my eye. It's shaped like a stinkhorn type mushroom, with an unglazed stem and a head that could have been dipped in different coloured glazes. Nice looking and intriguing object. It will stand but not safely . In very good condition.

Small Hand Turned Wooden Mushroom

 

A small hand turn wooden mushroom. It's a single piece, no glue or join, from an unknown dark wood.There are a few knot holes and a couple of small drying cracks and it looks as though there are some water stains on the dome. However it occurred to me this may be deliberate in order to imitate fly agaric spots as there are none on the stalk. The base has a patch of green felt affixed to it.
