Vintage Small Brass Thistle Jug - 871817

Small and heavy cast brass jug in the shape of a Scottish thistle with an ornate handle. Marked on the base "Reg No 871817 Britain". I have seen these dated variously as antique or 1953 but I am afraid I am unable to be more precise.

Round Trinket Jar - Autumn Fruit and Nut - Sadler

Mid-sized, round trinket box by Sadler. It's the same pattern as once used by Palissy and is a pair of apples, gooseberries and redcurrants on the lid, with berries and walnuts around the side of the base. It's late era Sadler with the embossed mark on the base and apart from a little bit of crazing it's in excellent condition.

Vintage Small Lidded Trinket Box - Fruit - Royal Worcester Palissy

Small, six sided trinket box from the Fruit range by Palissy, this one being an apple, gooseberry and redcurrant design on the lid and various fruit and nuts around the pot sides (the same design later being used by Sadler). This item dates from between 1958 when Palissy became part of Royal Worcester Group and 1976 when RW merged with Spode. It's in excellent condition with only a tiny speck of gold missing from around the rim.

Vintage Double Woven Basket Dish with Fruit - W.H. Goss - Collectable

Vintage cream coloured double dish in the shape of a pair of baskets with a handpainted orange on one edge and a bunch of different coloured berries opposite. It's by WH Goss but in the post sale period of 1930 - 1938. It's faintly crazed and there are a couple of stains beneath the glaze but otherwise it's in very good condition and would make a good addition to any collection.

Antique Large Langley Ware Brown Lidded Jug - Lovatt's Langley Mill

Absolutely beautiful large brown earthenware jug by Lovatt's of Langley Mill. It has a strainer at the spout and an additional one in the lid so could also pass muster as a teapot. From the marks on the base and with reference to a Lovatt's collector's site it has a probable date of 1905, which if true makes its condition - mint or museum quality - remarkable.

Weight with packaging - in excess of 2kg

Vintage 12 piece Cup and Saucer Set - Palissy Red Maple

Fantastic complete set of six cups and saucers in the green version of the Red Maple design by Palissy. They are also in the original box. The probable manufacturing date for this set is early 1950s. Palissy is often difficult to date with a lot of deliberate misleads but this would chime well with what the previous owner told me as he thought they had been in his family for at least 50 years. Bar some crazing to each item the general condition is excellent. I haven't found any chips or cracks and the previous owner tells me the box was rarely opened let alone used. The box itself is faded and cracked at the corners but internally it's fine with all slots in place and it holds the cups and saucers very securely.

Cup: 7.5cm (h) x 6.5cm (8.5cm with handle)

Saucers: 13cm
