Vintage Green Stoneware Mug - B R Stoneware, Burton
SOLD
Large heavy mug in green slip glazed stoneware by BR Stoneware of Burton. There isn't much information about B R Stoneware out there but it does seem to confuse some people with some calling it Bretby. The Bretby backstamp is fundamentally different although whether there is a connection, I don't know. In lovely condition though and full of character.
Measurements are approximate: 9.5cm x 11.5cm max diameter incl handle

Small and Heavy Brass Coloured Bwol or Planter
Small
round bowl with very heavy base (weighs 900g) made from what appears to
be cast brass. It is certainly the right colour but I can't guarantee
the metal. It has a very satisfying ring though! Some stains on the
inside - I think it may have been used as a planter - and a couple of
small ones on the outside but I think it will buff nicely.

Vintage Bulbous Stoneware Vase by Gerry Lyons - The Singing Potter
Heavy
and bulbous narrow necked stoneware vase by Gerry Lyons, the "Singing
Potter" of Moffat in the Scottish Borders. It has an olive green glaze
over the top half and a circular swirl on each side. Much of his latter
work I believe is inscribed with Christian messages; this one is
unmarked. The glaze has dripped in one spot and there is a pre-firing
dent in one spot in addition to a couple of small white marks which will
probably come off with a bit of effort but it nevertheless has a rustic
charm. There is also something rattling around inside it - something I
will admit I have not made much of an effort to remove!

Double Skin Studio Pottery Stoneware Pot
Unusual lidded stoneware pot. Although small, it's very heavy which can be explained by the fact that the body is double walled. the outer skin has eight small holes in, each separated by a depressed wave shape coloured a darker blue. The pot naturally is much smaller on the inside than the exterior shape would suggest. Glaze is a grey blue tenmoku style inside and out with darker blue line detail. It is inscribed (barely visibly) AEA and 88 on the base. It's in excellent condition

Heavy Carved Wooden Duck
Beautiful
hand crafted wooden duck. I am quite hopeless at identifying wood but
this is quite heavy with a lovely colourful grain. It has a rounded
underside so does not sit still, rather it is wont to spin and rock if
touched as it balances on one point only. Really nice unusual piece in
splendid condition.
