Small Antique Earthenware Lidded Jug - Possibly Doulton or Gibsons

SOLD

Small reddish brown earthenware jug with hinged pewter lid. It has a couple of marks on the base, a P and a 2 but no maker's name. It is similar in shape to some of the Doulton Lambeth jugs of the late 19th & early 20th centuries but it could be from anyone, the style being very common. It's in excellent condition though, although the thumbrest from the lid has broken off. Still a great looking piece.

Hand Carved Wooden Lidded Jar

Small wooden lidded pot, made from what is probably sheesham wood and with a hand carved floral band around the middle. The lid is also engraved with a star design. The lid fits well and apart from the odd water drip stain it's in very good condition. Measurements are approximate:13cm x 7cm base

Vintage Individual Lidded Soup Bowl

Lidded individual stoneware soup bowl. Treacle glaze outside, white inside. A good few years old it displays signs of being well used although the wear is limited to surface scratching on the white glaze. There are none of the familiar appliance safe marks so I'm hazarding a guess that it may well pre-date any such kitchen device and would add the rider that it may well have a metallic glaze so please err on the side of caution. In very good condition otherwise.

Large and Chunky Stoneware Lidded Pot

Large and very substantial stoneware pot in a brown drip glaze. The lid is slightly too small for the pot, leaving a slight slit when moved around and the walls are very thick, making it very heavy. It's possibly an amateur piece although it is marked "MW". Nevertheless it's a an interesting piece and quite pleasing to look at.

Double Skin Studio Pottery Stoneware Pot

Unusual lidded stoneware pot. Although small, it's very heavy which can be explained by the fact that the body is double walled. the outer skin has eight small holes in, each separated by a depressed wave shape coloured a darker blue. The pot naturally is much smaller on the inside than the exterior shape would suggest. Glaze is a grey blue tenmoku style inside and out with darker blue line detail. It is inscribed (barely visibly) AEA and 88 on the base. It's in excellent condition

Hand Turned Wooden Lidded Pot with Natural Bark Finish

SOLD

Unusual cylindrical pot turned from a section of trunk as it still features the bark. I can't identify the wood, a skill at which I am hopeless (it may be ash, I have been informed). It is quite close grained and has been stained although I think it's of some vintage as the stain has itelf become stained in places. The lid fits tightly but may be of a different wood. There are a couple of tiny marks around the edge of the lid and a few spots of paint on it but overall it's in very good condition and is an unusual piece to add to your collection.

Vintage Midnight Blue Pot w/ Wooden Lid - Hornsea Heirloom

SOLD

Small lidded jam, preserve or sugar jar from the John Clappison designed Heirloom pattern in the gorgeous Midnight Blue. It has a notched wooden lid for a spoon so probably not best used for jams or honey. The wooden lid is a mystery - it certainly fits the Heirloom style, and it's in excellent condition, but I've searched a few sites and not seen anything similar. The jam pot or sugar bowl lid will should fit though - please check sizes with me if you're looking to replace a broken item. The backstamp is the 1980s version and it is in absolutely perfect condition.

Hand-turned Wooden Lidded Bowl - Possibly Yew

SOLD

Nice round hand-turned wooden bowl with lid. The bowl has been varnished with a very clear, natural varnish. There are a couple of very light marks on each side but these appear to be natural and will become less noticeable with use.

13.5cm diameter x 10cm.

Small Lidded Speckled Wood Pot - Possibly Red Palm

SOLD

Lovely lidded speckled hand-turned wooden pot which could be made from Red Palm but I am not 100% sure of the wood.  It is pretty solid yet fairly light if that helps. There is some discolouration and a few scratches around the side from daily wear and tear but this pot should polish up beautifully.

All measurements approximate:
10cm x 8cm
