Unusual Multi Coloured Ornamental "Thing"

SOLD

Not quite sure what this is but it caught my eye. It's shaped like a stinkhorn type mushroom, with an unglazed stem and a head that could have been dipped in different coloured glazes. Nice looking and intriguing object. It will stand but not safely . In very good condition.

10cm long

Vintage Walter Bosse Style Silver Plated Donkey Ring Holder - Seba

Ring holder and tray in silver plate by Seba. It is the very popular Walter Bosse inspired donkey with long ears and tail. I have given it a cursory clean but it could do with a slightly more vigorous one. The plate has started to deteriorate around the base of the left ear but overall it is in good general condition

Souvenir Tribal Art - Hand Carved Wooden Canoe

Splendid hand carved ornament featuring two chaps giving it their all rowing a canoe, although only one seems to have a paddle - this seems deliberate. I don't know where it originates from, it's has the look of maybe the Pacific area although it could be anywhere. A thoroughly charming piece though and in excellent condition.

Vintage Handpainted Cake Stand Plate - WT Barlow Coronation Ware

Square cake stand tier plate from the Coronation Ware range by WT Barlow & Sons. As with many of their designs, it is hand painted and enameled over a transfer print. This has heavy gilded lines and blue squares with green detail. It is crazed but the decoration is first class with very little wear. Drilled for a spindle, there is a very small chip to the edge of the hole on top but this will be covered by the washer if you decide to build it up (spindles and handles are easily obtainable). WT Barlow ceased production in 1940 so this is in excellent condition cosnsidering its appreciable vintage

Hollow Brass Frog Ornament

SOLD

Medium sized frog in quite heavy brass. He's caught mid leap with his mouth wide open and he is indeed, hollow so you could actually secrete stuff inside him if need be. Who'd look there? Lacquer worn in a couple of places underneath and a small spot of corrosion where the back right leg joins the body but nothing at all serious and it's in otherwise excellent condition.

Vintage Small Octagonal Bowl - Indian RN 597783 - Royal Doulton

Sweet octagonal bowl in the "Indian" pattern by Royal Doulton. The Registered Design Number on the base was first used in 1912 and the backstamp dates no later than 1927. There are some other faint marks on the back that may have dated it more accurately but I can't make them out. The number though, 597783, appears also to have been used with other patterns, notably Nankin Blue although I have seen other examples of this pattern with the same number. Condition is fairly good for its age - a couple of small hairline cracks to the edge that appear to have been there for a good number of years as they have become stained, otherwise general age related crazing and a couple of small surface nips to the green edging.

13.5cm diameter

Slipware Novelty Frog Beer Mug - Peter Currell Brown - Snake Pottery

SOLD

Large slipware beer mug with frog lurking in the bottom and motto on the side, "Tho' tis not tasty, be not hasty". It is by Peter Currell Brown from his Snake Pottery who is probably more familiar as the author of the cult classic novel, "Smallcreep's Day". The mug is incised on the base "PCB 1980" and while it has some staining inside from use (that can be cleaned with a bit of effort) it is in pretty good condition with only a little bit of crazing visible on the lettering.
