Vintage Retro Three Compartment Wooden Tray - Greco - Finnar

SOLD

Rather nice solid dark wood, possibly teak,  oval snack tray. It's divided into three compartments and was made in England by Greco. There is another mark on the base, "Finnar" and a tree-like symbol, presumably the timber distributer or grower. I vaguely remember both these names from my youth but can find no trace of them now. There are a few signs of wear but the marks are confined pretty much to the surface and with a couple of hours' work this will look as good as new. Lovely piece of retro kit for your 60s and 70s inspired evenings.

Nest of Three Carved and Brass Inlaid Wooden Boxes

SOLD

Very nice set of three nested wooden boxes, probably sheesham, each with a diagonal floral pattern hand carved into the lid with inlaid brass leafes and branches. They are well made with brass hinges and all lids close snugly. The inside of the lid and base are covered in red velveteen, slightly more plush in the largest box although none are particularly worn, the fibres just compressed from storage. They do not appear to have been used much, if at all, and are therefore in very good condition with very few surface marks.

Small: 13.5cm x 5.5cm x 3.3cm. Compartment: 11cm x 3cm x 2cm
Medium: 17cm x 9cm x 4.5cm. Compartment: 14.5cm x 6.5cm x 3cm
Large: 20.3cm x 12.7cm x 6.3cm. Compartment: 17.5cm x 9.8cm x 4.5cm

Wooden Mortar & Pestle

SOLD

Rather striking wooden mortar and pestle in a very heavily grained but quite lightweight wood, possibly a burr. There are a couple of light marks, perhaps water stains, but otherwise it's in excellent condition and I think unused and as such untainted although owing to the stains I have listed it as used.

Mortar: 10.5cm (d) x 10cm; Pestle: 17cm long

Vintage Toilet Roll Holder

SOLD

Rather nice vintage/retro toilet roll holder in, I think, stainless steel. It has a wooden roller, around a metal spindle held in place by the two knurled knobs. There are two mounting holes. It is perfectly serviceable and apart from some paint residue, which will remove with a little effort, and the roller perhaps needing a varnish or seal, is in excellent condition.

Roller length: 11.5cm (most toilet rolls are around 10.5-11cm width)

Mounting holes are centred 8.5cm apart

Depth: from top of plate to centre of spindle approx 9.5cm

Width: 17cm, roller sits approx 7cm proud from wall

Handmade Wooden Trinket Box with Honeycomb/Lattice Detail.

SOLD

Charming little sheesham wood trinket box with an unusual pointed lid. The tightly fitting unhinged lid has lattice fretwork detailing with a honeycomb pattern. The wood is in pretty good condition although there's a small nick at one end of the raised top and a very tiny crack which looks to be original (see inset).  There is a slight 'shaving' further along the top as well but overall the box is in very good condition. Ideal for jewellery, trinkets or pot pourri.12.2cm x 12.5cm x 7.5cm

Wood and Brass Swan

SOLD

Swan formed out of solid block of indeterminate wood with a brass neck and head. Quite a nice looking and very tactile ornament although it has seen better days. It could do with rubbing down and revarnishing. There is a crack but this appears to be natural, emanating from a knot and looks to have been there for a long while. The neck and head are a little marked and the lacquer is coming off in a few places but it would make a nice restoration project.
