Very
nice conical stoneware oil burner by Robert Tarling. I'm not sure if
this was from his time at the Kersey Pottery or later the Newport
Pottery in Dyfed although I'm drawn to the latter. It could also be a
drizzler although the cork would have to be removed for that to work
effectively and it's too
close to the spout. It does have what I thought was a wick but is
actually a pipe cleaner. A wick would work better - light it to draw the
scented oil through and then extinguish it as the oil starts to burn,
allowing it to glow for a few minutes. Nice looking item.
