Striking
looking silvered jug with matt black handle in the Queen Anne design by
Devon Silverine - Fielding's. These were produced between 1917 and 1930 and
while there are a couple of small wear spots the first impression on
seeing this is that it's either polished silver or brand new -
the handle finish looks as though it's just been applied! The base
though is crazed and there is a hairline crack from the rim to the right
of the top handle join (although this is barely visible). The lid is
also missing - I think this was a hinged pewter lid although I'm not
100% certain. Overall it's a nice looking piece and although I'd advise
against using it unless you can get the crack professionally repaired it
will still look good on display.
