Small
(1/6th Gill) pewter bellied measure by Gaskell & Chambers of
Birmingham. It does bear a verification stamp, the crown is visible
although I can't make out the monarch's initials. The uniform
verification number is 93 which makes it verified in Lancashire from
1879 onwards. G & C
were formed in 1892. There is another stamp on the belly but I can only
make out a few letters. It has a few knocks, small dents and marks and
the handle is slightly bent but it's nevertheless charming, as these
invariably are.
