Vintage Hand Painted 933 Oil Bottle - BC Pattern - E.Radford

Lovely handpainted duck egg blue oil bottle by E.Radford. It's the 933 shape and painted with the BC pattern. I think this is a post war piece but no less desirable. It's in excellent condition although there is no stopper.

Antique Small Hammered Pewter Jug - Fenton Brothers, Sheffield

Small round pewter jug with ornate handle and hammered finish. Quality is a touch above the average, the plate being quite thick. It has touch marks for Fenton Brothers of Sheffield, who traded from 1859 until 1919 and despite its age it's in very good condition. There are one or two small scratches and there is a barely noticeable small dent, more a flattening, to one side that I am sure could be removed with care (I have straightened edges and smoothed dents carefully and gently with a hot water bath and wooden forms before). Apart from that there's still a nice sheen to it -  the white marks around the handle are from some kind of residue and it does remove with care (see before and after photos). Use a fingernail rather than a hard edge to remove the rest. Overall in very good condition.

Stoneware Celery Jar - Pearson's of Chesterfield

SOLD

Clear glazed stoneware celery jar by Pearsons of Chesterfield. Very retro despite having the oven, freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe stamp on the base (Pearsons closed in 1994 so it's at least 20 years old anyway). In excellent condition.

Porcelain Ashtray With Fragonard Design CP - Limoges

Smart square porcelain ashtray by "CP" of Limoges in white with gold edging and gold lined rests at each corner. It also has the almost obligatory Fragonard design in the centre. There's a bit of wear to the gilding and a tiny chip around 12 o'clock on the edge of the picture. Also a small chip on the underside of the bottom right corner that isn't visible from above. Otherwise it's in good condition.

Vintage Scandy Pattern Sugar Bowl - Aller Vale Pottery, Devon

SOLD

Small motto ware sugar bowl by Aller Vale. It's their "scandy" pattern on cream with the motto "Take a Little Sugar" in sgraffito around the side. Age related fine crazing - these are in excess of 50 years old as the pottery closed in 1962 but otherwise lovely condition.

Small Wooden Pot Pourri Bowl with Hummingbird Grill

SOLD

Small flying saucer shaped pot pourri bowl with cast metal hummingbird design grill. It is actually slightly oval in shape, longer side with the black grain. It has a few small red stains inside and out and it has been recently used as it is quite strongly scented however it's still in very good condition.

Small Studio Pottery Stoneware Vase

SOLD

Beautiful little stoneware vase in a glossy grey green speckled glaze. It's quite heavy for its size but it's well proportioned. There is a mark on the base, a single impressed capital "P" (in fact it's there twice), but I cannot trace the potter. Somebody has dropped a small piece of plastic inside that is reluctant to come out. It won't affect the postage weigh but it will rattle a bit! There is also a tiny chip to the base which isn't visible unless you turn it upside down. Otherwise it's in excellent condition.

Vintage Gold Lustre and Handpainted Jug - Oldcourt Ware, J. Fryer

Small Oldcourt Ware milk jug by J. Fryer. It's in gold lustre with hand painted underglaze petals and leaves. Notoriously difficult to age but this has a little crazing and one or two small spots of wear but it's still in excellent condition.

Double Skin Studio Pottery Stoneware Pot

Unusual lidded stoneware pot. Although small, it's very heavy which can be explained by the fact that the body is double walled. the outer skin has eight small holes in, each separated by a depressed wave shape coloured a darker blue. The pot naturally is much smaller on the inside than the exterior shape would suggest. Glaze is a grey blue tenmoku style inside and out with darker blue line detail. It is inscribed (barely visibly) AEA and 88 on the base. It's in excellent condition

Vintage Brown Honeycomb Glaze Cup and Saucer - Kernewek

Lovely vintage cup and saucer in a brown honeycomb drip glaze. It is not marked with a name and I make no claim that this is either Fosters or Kernewek although this did come from a large box of similar items and one of them was marked Kernewek, Cornwall; conversely Kernewek or Fosters sometimes did not mark all their ware. It is in excellent condition apart from some very minor scratches.

Cup: Diameter incl handle: 10.5cm x 7.5cm
Saucer: Diameter: 14cm x 3cm

Pair of Cobalt Blue Coffee Cups and Saucers - Martell Cognac

SOLD

A lovely pair of small - roughly demitasse sized - heavy porcelain coffee cups and saucers in deep cobalt blue with gold edging and bright white on the inside. Both cup and saucer are marked with the Martell Cognac name and logo on their undersides. There's no maker's name but they are very reminiscent of a range by Apilco of France and I would be happy to bet that they are. The cups are in excellent condition although there are a few small marks to the surfaces of the saucers but the deep colour hides these well.

Cup: 9cm across handle x 4.5cm
Saucer: 12cm

Vintage Two Tone Leaf Design Sandwich Platter - Royal Winton Grimwades

Beautiful two tone russet brown and light green leaf shaped sandwich platter by Royal Winton Grimwades. The underside is the darker of the two colours all over. The backstamp is the post 1951 version with the grading letter "A", which was not used after 1952 so if my sources are correct this can be dated fairly accurately. It is in remarkably good condition for a 60 year-old piece with only some light crazing and no chips or cracks.

Retro Small Handpainted German Vase

Small black and gold vase, flared top and bottom and handpainted with a red, white and gold flower on one side and a small leaf motif on the other. It is coloured burgundy on the inside and the rim and base are both coloured gold. It is marked 1008 and 4 on the base as well as "Foreign" and "Handgemalt A". There is another mark around the base, opposite "Foreign" but it is indistinct. The style of the numbering suggests Germany but it could easily be Austria or Switzerland. I would imagine age to be around 50 years. There is some loss of gilding around the rim but otherwise it's in excellent condition. Please note the small white paint spatters have now been removed!
