Antique Small Hammered Pewter Jug - Fenton Brothers, Sheffield

Small round pewter jug with ornate handle and hammered finish. Quality is a touch above the average, the plate being quite thick. It has touch marks for Fenton Brothers of Sheffield, who traded from 1859 until 1919 and despite its age it's in very good condition. There are one or two small scratches and there is a barely noticeable small dent, more a flattening, to one side that I am sure could be removed with care (I have straightened edges and smoothed dents carefully and gently with a hot water bath and wooden forms before). Apart from that there's still a nice sheen to it -  the white marks around the handle are from some kind of residue and it does remove with care (see before and after photos). Use a fingernail rather than a hard edge to remove the rest. Overall in very good condition.

Vintage Small Round Ebony Trinket Box

SOLD

Rather delightful little lidded pot, stamped on the base "Real Ebony". It does have a hairline crack in it, visible in the photos, but this doesn't detract and it's perfectly functional otherwise. It looks to be of some vintage judging by the patina but has very few signs of wear.

7.5cm (d) x 7cm
