Vintage Large Black Window Vase - 93A - Dartmouth Pottery

Superb wide black window vase by Dartmouth Pottery. Dating from between the late 1950s and the pottery's closure in 2002 this is shape number 93A. It has some mild staining through wear on the inside but externally it's excellent. Magnificent piece.

Vintage Cucumber Dish - Toni Raymond Pottery

 

Small ten sided dish by Toni Raymond Pottery of Babbacombe, decorated to resemble a slice of cucumber with dark green and off white and with three slices of cucumber handpainted on the inside. It's in excellent condition.

Small Caramel Coloured Bud Vase - Devon?

Small caramel coloured vase with brown rings. It has a trumpet neck on a spherical base and is marked Made in England on the base. It has the look of Devon or Torquay ware, possibly Brixham. Either way, it's a nice looking little thing with only some age related crazing.

Vintage Small Orange & White Polka Dot Ware Jug - Sandygate Pottery, Devon

SOLD

Small jug by the Sandygate Pottery of Kingsteignton, Devon. The pottery was known for its polka dot ware and this is in orange with white dots and white interior. It is of white clay so is a little later than the early red clay wares from the early 1950s. The pottery closed in the 1990s. There is some crazing to the white interior surface but otherwise it's in very good condition.

Kitchen Storage Jar - Currants - Toni Raymond Pottery

Large kitchen storage jar, helpfully disposing of any dilemma you may have about what to store by being clearly labelled "Currants". The wooden lid fits well although the varnish is flaking off so will need a bit of restoration. The glaze has crazed somewhat but in all other respects the jar is in excellent condition. Indeed, I doubt it has ever been used.

Very large worktop flour storage jar by Toni Raymond Pottery of Babbacombe, Devon. Finished in the familiar blue flower design and with the original wooden lid and seal, it also comes with the original pale blue scoop. The lid could do with rubbing down and revarnishing but otherwise it's in excellent condition.

Vintage Scandy Pattern Sugar Bowl - Aller Vale Pottery, Devon

Small motto ware sugar bowl by Aller Vale. It's their "scandy" pattern on cream with the motto "Take a Little Sugar" in sgraffito around the side. Age related fine crazing - these are in excess of 50 years old as the pottery closed in 1962 but otherwise lovely condition.

Vintage Devon Motto Ware Cockerel Ashtray - Longpark

SOLD

Lovely shield shaped slipware earthenware ashtray from Longpark Pottery, Torquay. It features their familiar cockerel and the motto "Hear all, See all, Say nothing". Their cockerel became popular between the wars and Longpark closed in in 1957 so it is fair to assume this is at least 55-60 years old, maybe much older. Apart from a little crazing it is in superb condition.

Vintage Sugar Bowl - Joba Devon

Very nice hand thrown ivory sugar bowl with grey-green bands and a charcoal swirl band. It's by Joba of Devon and from what I can find out (which isn't much) this pattern was a signature one. I have no idea of the age although it is in very good condition with no cracks, nips or flea bites.

Mustard Yellow Glaze Jug Brixham Pottery, Devon

Lovely small mustard yellow jug with a very pretty swirly pattern in brown.  There are a couple of pock marks that happened during glazing and if you look closely the jug is crazed.  There is a stamp on the base stating 'Brixham Pottery Devon' and 'Made in England'.  The condition of the jug is perfect with no hairline cracks, flea bites or chips.

Lidded sugar bowl with hand painted ivy pattern around bowl and lid. It is marked Made in Devon but by whom I have no idea. There's a decorators mark on the base and the underside of the lid. In perfect condition.
