Vintage Hand Painted Ashtray - Keraluc, Quimper
Vintage Quimper ashtray by the Keraluc pottery of Victor Lucas. Handpainted design on stoneware with three slots. It is marked JF on the base but I can't trace these initials. The pottery went out of business in 1984 so this is at least 30 years old. It is though in excellent condition.
14cm diameter

scalloped sides, higher at one end, and the dips in the scalloping
easily being used as rests. Painted in a brown abstract pattern that
does not appear to have a name. In excellent condition.

Vintage Pub Ashtray by Wade - Nelson Tipped Cigarettes
Vintage
blue ceramic pub ashtray advertising Nelson cigarettes, from what I can
gather, a tipped alternative to Senior Service. I don't remember them
from my smoking career (approx 1977-2012) so I'm guessing this is a
1960s vintage - the Wade Regicor backstamp dates from the late 1950s -
mid '60s. In excellent condition.

Vintage Charrington Jubilee Stout Ashtray
Vintage
Portuguese made pub ashtray advertising Charrington's Jubilee Stout.
Rectangular with an oval bowl featuring the Jubilee Stout name and the
Charrington Toby jug logo. The company merged with Bass in the late
1960s so I would hazard that this is from the early to mid 1960s. The
gold edging is a little worn in places and there's a little chip on one
edge but otherwise it's in very good condition.

Vintage Handpainted Blue Ashtray - Dragon Pottery Rhayader
Crimped
edged ashtray by the Dragon Pottery of Rhyadar. At least I think it's
an ashtray - it could be used for anything. It's in the less common
handpainted blue pattern and while it has the expected crazing and a
couple of very tiny stains it's in very good condition.

Vintage Hand Painted Ashtray - Henriot, Quimper
Vintage Quimper ashtray by Henriot. Handpainted design of two musicians: one playing a reed instrument of some kind and the other what is possibly a set of Breton pipes. It is marked on the base Henriot Quimper with the Form number F114 and Decor number D027 as well as what looks to be RiH. The markings indicate it was made sometime between 1968 and 1983 and it's in excellent condition.

Small Heavy Onyx Ashtray
Small square onyx ashtray with circular bowl and two grooves. Nicely grained, mainly green with small brown area. One or two small chips, no more than a couple of mm, on the edges, otherwise in excellent condition. Quite heavy which will make postage overseas relatively expensive.

Small Studio Pottery Stoneware Ashtray

small shallow ashtray, square with either a tubelined or stamped
vaguely Celtic design at the centre. It's finished in a brown
speckled glaze and apart from a slight deformation to one side prior to
firing it's in excellent condition.

Porcelain Ashtray With Fragonard Design CP - Limoges
Smart
square porcelain ashtray by "CP" of Limoges in white with gold edging
and gold lined rests at each corner. It also has the almost obligatory
Fragonard design in the centre. There's a bit of wear to the
gilding and a tiny chip around 12 o'clock on the edge of the picture.
Also a small chip on the underside of the bottom right corner that isn't
visible from above. Otherwise it's in good condition.

Wooden Pipe Shaped Ashtray
SOLD
Vintage ashtray shaped like a large bowled pipe. It's quite deep, with three grooves on the rim of the bowl. It has been used and although I have made it a little more respectable by removing a lot of tobacco and ash residue, a healthy patina still remains (as does a slight odour). Otherwise it's in very good condition.

Swan Shaped Metal Ashtray
Small
shiny silver metal ashtray in the shape of a swan. I can't vouch for the
metal, the tray could be shiny stainless or possibly silver plated, and
it has one groove rest at the tail. The moulded neck is slightly dull and does
move slightly on the join but there's no danger of it being damaged.
There are a couple of very small marks but otherwise it is in great
condition.

Vintage Ebony Ashtray
SOLD
This has puzzled me! It's obviously an ashtray, with three grooves into a central hole. It appeared to have been turned from a single piece of wood but if you stick your finger in, the inside is bigger than it looks - how did they do that? But after several attempts to unscrew it, something moved - I haven't actually managed to unscrew it but it moved a couple of mm. Sit the base in something cold to contract it (remember if you choose cold water, ebony sinks) and you may be able to unscrew it properly but at least the mystery is solved. There is a hairline crack on the top half, not visible in the photos, but it's no threat to its integrity unless I imagine, you subject it to a great deal of pressure, and it remains a great piece. The base is somewhat scratched, I guess from manufacture, but it is otherwise in excellent condition.

Vintage Devon Motto Ware Cockerel Ashtray - Longpark
SOLD
Lovely shield shaped slipware earthenware ashtray from Longpark Pottery, Torquay. It features their familiar cockerel and the motto "Hear all, See all, Say nothing". Their cockerel became popular between the wars and Longpark closed in in 1957 so it is fair to assume this is at least 55-60 years old, maybe much older. Apart from a little crazing it is in superb condition.
