Antique Hand Coloured Shepherd Boy China Mug

Antique china mug featureing a resting shepherd boy in a woodland setting with three sheep and his dog. The transfer is on twice and has been hand detailed and coloured, and quite roughly, too. I have no clue as to the maker - the one example I found online on an auctioneer's site was similarly clueless  but the diamond registration mark dates the mug to 18th March 1876. It does have some damage, most notably the handle which has been been repaired with what looks epoxy resin although it looks to be a very old repair. There is also a hairline crack opposite the handle running for about 1/3 way down from the rim. There is also some discolouration and staining from one or two glaze cracks in the base. Colours are good though and a more skilled repair will reward the buyer with a nice piece.

Fine little bud vase in the 1013 shape vase in off white with faint green hues and handpainted in the FE design. Super condition, no sign of any crazing as far as I can see.

Vintage Handpainted Cake Stand Plate - WT Barlow Coronation Ware

Square cake stand tier plate from the Coronation Ware range by WT Barlow & Sons. As with many of their designs, it is hand painted and enameled over a transfer print. This has heavy gilded lines and blue squares with green detail. It is crazed but the decoration is first class with very little wear. Drilled for a spindle, there is a very small chip to the edge of the hole on top but this will be covered by the washer if you decide to build it up (spindles and handles are easily obtainable). WT Barlow ceased production in 1940 so this is in excellent condition cosnsidering its appreciable vintage

Hand painted sandwich platter in the blue Osiris Solway design, Reg'd 740246, by Alfred Meakin. Dates I think from the 1930s. A couple of small chips to the undersides that don't show from above and the paint is a little worn on the relief area on the handles but still a good decorative piece.

Handpainted Bone China Blue & Gold Lustre Bowl - Lyme Studio

Lyme Studio are a decorating studio specialising in commemorative and gift ware and are finished to a high standard. All items are unique but they tend to use several main colourways with 22 carat gold detailing. This is a two handled bone china bowl, with a very satisfying "ting", finished in what I believe is their Lapis Lazuli colourway and gilded rim, handles and footring. It's signed by the artist, Vivienne J. Evison on the base. A lovely looking item in excellent condition.

Conical handpainted ceramic vinegar bottle from Jersey Pottery. Decorated in a green leaf pattern the stopper still has the original seal which while discoloured, still functions well. Apart from some crazing it's in excellent condition.

Lovely vintage egg cup with handpainted rabbit as the centrepiece. It's impressed "England" on the base but I'm not sure who the maker is. It's similar to Keele St but they are usually marked as such. Any clues? It's in very good condition and I will certainly give it another clean before it's sent out!

Very pretty handpainted cup and saucer in the 'Vineyard' pattern.  (This is just one of a set of 6.)   Condition is excellent with no cracks, hairline cracks or chips.  Please note that as these are handpainted, whilst the pattern is still the same, the colours may be darker on some.

Large Handpainted Water Jug - Shorter

Very large and visually striking handpainted water jug. The painting over the embossed floral design is quite crude and it is marked on the base "Hand painted by Shorter England". Whether this is Shorter & Son, I don't know as the backstamp doesn't really match anything of theirs I can find. If it is, it is at least 50 years old and in that case it's in extremely clean condition and with only a minimum of crazing. Regardless, it is a very distinctive display piece.

Vintage Large Floral Lustre Ware Vase, 1960s - Oldcourt Ware

Large-ish handpainted Oldcourt Ware lustre vase by J. Fryer of Tunstall. Familiar coloured brush strokes with gold edged flowers on one side and a gilded rim. The backstamp dates it to roughly the 1960s. It has some light crazing and the gilding around the rim is a little worn but otherwise it's in excellent condition.

Hand painted gold rimmed china plate featuring what can only be described as an impossibly cute Cairn Terrier delivering a letter. It is quite nice and relatively accomplished although definitely amateur. Would definitely appeal to a Cairn lover though. It is signed on the back with a capital A and Orford 1990
