Vintage Plant Pot and Matching Saucer - Dragon Pottery?

SOLD

Matching plant pot and saucer set that is unmarked but is white earthenware and has a colourway and sgraffito pattern very reminiscent of those of the Dragon Pottery of Rhayader. Dragon, along with a few other potteries, also made ware marked for Dee Cee of the Midlands in the 1960s so it's entirely possible this could be one of theirs but I would be quite confident of the Dragon origin. The pot is a little stained and the saucer mildly crazed in the centre but it's still a fine looking piece

All measurements approx:
8cm high, 12.5cm wide pot diameter

Vintage Small Olive Green Maple Leaf Planter - Mould No 4205 - SylvaC

Small planter in olive green/ochre with relief maple leaf pattern by SylvaC. The mould number is 4205 and the backstamp would appear to be the 1940s-50s version. It had been used extensively and I have tidied it up quite a bit although there is some calcium residue on the inside. I may be able to remove this but my apologies if for whatevver reason, I am unable to. In all other respects it's in excellent condition.

Large and Heavy Wooden Vase or Planter

SOLD

Large wooden vase or planter, hand turned by I would imagine a hobbyist, despite the old label on the base (the address no longer exists, the site is now occupied by a health centre). The bowl is impressively heavy as in fact it's almost solid, the inside having only been hollowed out by the width of the internal neck diameter (approx 6.5cm and 9cm deep, as opposed to the 13cm total height. The neck is well turned and fairly smooth, the body rather less so although the shape is pleasing to the eye. There are a couple of cracks on one side but they don't appear too serious although one does extend a couple of inches into the body. In some respects it is unfinished and would I think suit another hobbyist or turner as there is plenty of wood left to work. I'm not sure of the timber - possibly oak.

Vintage Small Stoneware Planter - Vitry Ware

Small planter with three embossed lines of dots. It bears the Vitry Ware stamp on the base although this is no guarantee of vintage. It has a few smudges and marks but no chips or cracks.

Vintage Pink Lustreware Majestic Window Vase - Sadler

SOLD

Wide, boat shaped window vase in the Majestic pattern by Sadler. It is finished in pink lustre glaze with gilded handles and edge. Unusually, it still has the dedicated wire lattice arranging frame. The gilding is a touch worn in places, especially around the pedestal. There is also an original notch in one of the scallop 'v's on the rim near one of the handles. A very fine hairline crack, barely visible, has extended from this for a cm or two but it doesn't appear to be threatening the integrity of the vase. The Sadler impression on the base is of pre WW2 vintage but the plastic coating of the wire frame would seem to negate that era and I suspect this may be possibly be post-war. Nice looking piece though  .

Small Wood Effect Bowl or Planter - Vitry Ware

SOLD

Small Vitry Ware planter or bowl (dog's bowl?) in wood effect finish, in much the same fashion as that used by Moira for the Hillstonia range. I am unsure of the date - many have put these as 1930s but the backstamp is slightly different so I am guessing this one is later. Apart from the water stain on the inside it's in fine condition.

Vintage Large Shallow Stoneware Planter

SOLD

Large shallow stoneware bowl or more likely, planter. I have no idea of the age, it may be quite vintage although it has a vague similarity to some of the Hartley's of Castleford stoneware of the 50s and 60s. It has what appears to be the residue from some kind of decoration - perhaps it was painted at one time, either sold as such or at a later date. It's otherwise in very good condition and still very useful.

Vintage Green Glazed Swan Planter - Blue Mountain Pottery, Canada - Collectable

SOLD

Highly collectable swan shaped planter by Blue Mountain. It's in the green reflowing glaze with the base being slightly brown coloured, this denoting I believe an earlier model, although I cannot confirm this and have no idea of when the model was first produced. I think it's possibly 1960s/70s. It has the three pine mark and also the round blue and silver three pine sticker on the base. It's in fine condition

Beautiful Inverted Snail Shell Drip Glaze Posy Vase

Interesting little posy vase or planter in the shape of an upturned snail shell. Simple in that respect but it has a beautiful, yet completely accidental, pattern in the brown and blue drip glaze. At first glance it looks like a landscape with sunrise until you realise it's not a deliberate design. Unmarked souvenir ware.  Lovely thing.

Vintage Stoneware Brick Effect Planter - Hillstonia - Moira Pottery

Large stoneware planter from the Hillstonia range by Moira Pottery. It's six sided, with two longer sides and a brick textured finish with a glossy glaze. Vintage Stoneware Planter - Hillstonia - Moira Pottery

SOLD

Large stoneware planter from the Hillstonia range by Moira Pottery. It's rectangular, shallow with a rough textured finish with a glossy glaze. It does have a couple of chips around the edge and there is a hairline crack onm one of the ends. Encouragingly it looks as though someone has attempted to repair the crack but the glue has now deteriorated and discoloured and is flaking off, suggesting it was done a long time ago (Moira was closed in 1972) and suggesting that it's still quite sound. These were generally designed for outside use and in all other respects it's in very presentable condition.

Vintage Large Planter - Jersey Pottery

Large planter in unglazed stoneware with indented circles and lines in one of the Jersey "House" designs. It's glazed brown on the inside and is not entirely round, being slightly squared off, and will take a pot of around 16cm maximum diameter across the top. It does have a couple of faults - there's a "bubble" on the inside bottom and a slight dent on the outside surface. These are original defects and in all other respects it's perfect. The base has the original cork covering, stamped with the pottery mark. Very heavy item and would prefer collection if possible but will post through Parcelforce 48 if required.
