Hollow Brass Frog Ornament

Medium sized frog in quite heavy brass. He's caught mid leap with his mouth wide open and he is indeed, hollow so you could actually secrete stuff inside him if need be. Who'd look there? Lacquer worn in a couple of places underneath and a small spot of corrosion where the back right leg joins the body but nothing at all serious and it's in otherwise excellent condition.

Small and Heavy Brass Coloured Bwol or Planter

Small round bowl with very heavy base (weighs 900g) made from what appears to be cast brass. It is certainly the right colour but I can't guarantee the metal. It has a very satisfying ring though! Some stains on the inside - I think it may have been used as a planter - and a couple of small ones on the outside but I think it will buff nicely.

Miniature Brass Coal Scuttle Planter

Small but heavy miniature coal scuttle with hinged handle. It's made with a very thick grade plate meaning it's quite robust. The loop looks to have been soldered on as an afterthought although it could just be worn. This belonged to a friend who used it as a small planter for many years so there are some blemishes and stains and a little verdigris but some time on a buffer will get it shining again.

Brass Cat Poker Rest - Peerage

Brass cat poker rest by Peerage. It lacks the original screws holding the rest on, which have been temporarily replaced with small bolts until suitable brass matches can be found. The Peerage stamp is on the base under the front paws - it's very small! Apart from the almost obligatory polish residue it's in excellent condition.

Brass Match or Vesta Holder with Mice and Strike

The classic vesta holder in the shape of a right footed boot. The two mice are clearly visible, the one around the top of the boot particularly well detailed. The strike is in good condition. It is very heavy for its size and the toe is solid, the rest very thick. In excellent condition.

Small heavy brass vesta or match holder or poker stand in the shape of a swan. It has a "Regn appd for" impress on the base but no sign of a maker's name. Some polish residue (although I've had a go at cleaning it) but otherwise in excellent condition

Small Indian brass kettle with large hinged handle.Engraved floral pattern around the body.  Quite solid, it does have the odd small bump and dent but is in very good condition overall and shines up nicely.

Vintage Brass Door/Drawer Knobs

Set of seven used brass drawer pulls or door knobs. The set comprises two larger knobs and five smaller ones. They do not appear to be solid but are still substantial and are well used and well tarnished and suitable for refurbishment. They are all of the same design on the outside but the smaller ones have a slight lip un the underside of the backplate. Two of the smaller ones are also more yellow in colour.

Large: Backplate diameter: 5cm, knob 4.6cm, total depth 4.2cm

Antique Salter No 2 Spring Balance

Vintage/antique brass fronted spring balance by Salter. To weigh 25lbs with marks for every 1/2lb. Front is brass, casing is japanned plate. The brass is in good order, slightly bent at the top end but not overly noticeable . Rust has broken through the coating on the casing and the ring and hook are lightly corroded. Otherwise it is in good working order.

Pair of Miniature Brass Candlesticks

This is a pair of miniature brass altar style candlesticks. They are cast and have a spiral stem (or helical for the technical). They are drilled out to take a tiny candle, the bore being about the width of a matchstick and around 3mm deep. A bit big for a doll's house I would have thought but they are in excellent condition and would make a good addition to a collection.

Fairly large Indian brass shoe shaped ashtray. Slot for a single cigarette and engraved with plant motifs. In very good condition although slightly tarnished and would benefit from a good polish.

Vintage Brass Esmeralda Crinoline Lady Ashtray - Peerage

Stamped brass ashtray with cast "Esmeralda" crinoline lady handle. Both the ashtray and Esmeralda are registered, no number on the ashtray but  the lady is 734726. She is held in place by a short bolt and as such I think she is interchangeable with other items in the range such as the toasting fork. This is handy as there is a bit of a blemish to the inside of the ashtray that may not be fixable. There is a long pink stain, very slightly rough, over about an inch on the inside (see photos). It's not gone all the way through though which suggests it's a surface blemish. I haven't tried but it's possible it could be buffed or rubbed out using a hobby drill with a suitable bit. Otherwise it's in fairly good condition. Will be dismantled for posting.

Small Brass Leaf Shaped Ashtray

Small brass ashtray in the shape of a vine leaf with a small bunch of grapes at one end. Two grooves for cigarettes and three feet. A little bit of polish residue around the detail, most of which I've managed to remove; the rest I am sure will come off with time. Otherwise it's in excellent condition.

Engraved Brass Bell

Brass bell nicely engraved with floral garlands. It still has the clapper and it has a lovely deep and loud ring to it that belies its modest size. The engraving, too, is a cut above the usual quality seen on imported brassware. Nice item.

Rather nice pair of miniature brass candlesticks for your mantlepiece. Small, pyramid shaped base with screw-in helical stems. Will fit very slender candles, approx thickness 7mm. IA couple of small marks to the bases but overall in very good condition.
