Vintage Taunton Vale Rolling Pin

Ceramic rolling pin by Taunton Vale in the herbs pattern. Large handles on each end with original bungs. Never worked that out - for storage or to make it heavier? Or fill with iced water to cool the pastry down? Anyway, it's in excellent condition.

Vintage Shell Cruet Set - Carlton Ware - Kitsch, Retro

Cruet set comprising salt and pepper pots in the shape of what could be whelk shells. The mustard pot has a vague shell shape also and all three sit on a scallop shell. They are from the late era Carlton Ware, probably 1970s, (the backstamp is the post 1968 decal style) and are a pinky-brown colour. The mustard pot has a tiny chip on the finial and the salt pot a small chip in the glaze running from the hole, something that isn't uncommon with salt pots, and otherwise the set is in good condition despite having been used. The original rubber stoppers are still in situ.
 Overall: 16cm x 16cm x 10cm

It is a smooth terracotta finish with a ridged cream ring and spout and interior. A lot of seconds were released onto the market in the early 1980s but this appears to be in excellent condition.

Vintage Half-Pint Pewter Tankard - James Yates

SOLD

Good quality half pint tankard of substantial thickness and weight by James Yates. The history of James Yates is convoluted and the right to use the name, molds and touches has passed between many companies, including Gaskell & Chambers who held the rights until their own demise in 1983. This design is based roughly on the G & C 14/4027 design appearing in their catalogues of the mid 20th Century. It has the ABPC mark on the base which would date it post 1970 so we can date it fairly accurately. It does have a couple of nicks and scratches but nothing too drastic and with a bit of elbow grease it buffs up quite well.

9.5cm x 13cm
