Vintage German Stoneware Wine Jug - Simon Peter Gerz

Grey 0.5 litre stoneware jug by Simon Peter Gerz GMBH featuring a relief of two young children carrying a large bunch of grapes with detailing picked out in cobalt blue. The motto across it reads "Trinkt wie eure Väter aus Stein den Wein" which translates roughly as "Drink as your fathers, wine from the stone" although a we don't have a suitable English word meaning stone(ware) to rhyme with wine. Stein is actually short for stoneware and does not, as is erroneously thought, mean a drinking vessel. It is marked on the base with the Gerz mark as used during the partition years. It is in excellent condition.

Vintage German Drip Glaze Miniature Jug Vase

Nice little jug vase in very typical German multi-coloured drip glaze style. You can just make out the impressed marks on the base - I think it's 572 8 (the height) Germany. Interestingly, look closely with a lens in the right light and whoever applied the glaze appears to have left a fingerprint on the base. These are often with gilded rims and detail although there's no sign of any here and it's in otherwise excellent condition.

Vintage German Drip Glaze Basket Posy Vase

Small posy basket with twisted handle in grey and yellow drip glaze typicla of the West German producers of the 1950s and 60s. If you look at the base in the right light you can just about make out "915" and some lettering - I have seen similar on West German pieces and have no reason to suspect it's from anywhere else. It's in excellent condition.

Vintage Small West German Era Vase - 511/6

Small posy vase of West German vintage, possibly Bay or Scheurich. It's gold rimmed with green and brown drip glazing. Marked on the base Germany 511/6 (6 being the height in cm). The gold is a little worn around the mouth but otherwise it's fine.

Vintage Mid Sized Narrow West German Vase - Scheurich 401/20

Narrow West German "flagon" style vase. It is not marked as such but the form number, 401, and the lettering style are those of Scheurich. It is not quite in the "fat lava" style but there are hints toward it in that the cream coloured glaze is more speckled towards the bottom and the surface around the base is rougher in texture. Still very collectable and despite being used (I fished a large lump of oasis out of it) it's in very good condition.

Vintage West German Tall Floor Vase - Scheurich 289 - 41

Very large 1960s -70s floor vase by, I think, Scheurich of West Germany. Slightly conical, it's 41cm tall and is embossed with rings of vaguely floral abstract patterns, each one in a different shade of grey/beige. Condition is excellent overall but it could probably do with a good clean.

Please note, I don't use couriers for items this large, heavy and fragile, preferring local collection. I will though deliver within a 20 mile or so radius of Crewe for £10, which is a very competitive price!
