Sculptural Cast Iron Candle Stand

I think this is a candle stand or something similar. It's made in the Irish Republic from what appears to be cast iron. It's a human form, probably female, holding aloft a tray. This has a small rim and whether it is designed to hold a candle or not it's difficult to say. Regardless, it's an interesting little thing in its own right and bar a couple of small rust stains it's in excellent condition.

Vintage Studio Pottery Stoneware Candle Stand - Robert Tarling

SOLD - Buyer had a matching one and now has a pair!

Lovely stoneware candle stand with Temmoku influenced glaze by Robert Tarling. Robert Tarling had studios in Kersey, Suffolk from 1969 until 1982 and then in Newport, Dyfed and he sadly passed away in 2005. I'm unsure as to when this would have been produced, the foot is marked as though it's been standing a long time but it's anyone's guess. A nice piece though and apart from the mild discolouration to the base, in excellent condition.
