Very large
stoneware salt pig in a speckled light yellow green glaze. It has a
panel below the wide mouth with "salt" impressed on it, very much in the
style of Tremar but it is rougher in finish and a slightly different
style and colouration to their output. It is marked, a small square
impression on the base but I can't match it to any reference. It is in
very good condition although it does have a few small nips around the
mouth, largely because the texture of the clay is very granular. However
it still has a huge amount of life left in it.
